Under Construction!

It all starts with a splash.

We are bringing the website up to our standards. If you can’t find information you are looking for, it might be coming soon! But just to make sure, feel free to reach out to info@divevb.com with anything you want to see on our website.

I’m excited to start this project with you all. My goal is for our small team to bring the wonder of the ocean to anyone brave enough to take the plunge. Virginia is the home to many historic sites, like Jamestown and Williamsburg, and buried just beneath the waves lies even more. For a history buff, adventurer, or marine-biologist-wannabe like me, Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks have it all. From a pre-Civil War barge sunk in 10ft of water and beaten by the surf, to sunken WWII Liberty Ships, to the artificial reefs sunk in the late 90s, to the wind turbines being installed today, I love floating effortlessly around the variety of structures attracting sea bass, spadefish, sea turtles, mola mola, barracuda, spot, drum, amberjacks, blennies, and yes, sharks. While I love the salt (and it does wonders for my hair and skin), there are also several old rock quarries filled with freshwater within driving distance for when Mother Nature is feeling temperamental.

I’ve been lucky enough to get to know a number of great divers in the area. I’ve also been unlucky enough to know what it’s like to struggle to find a dive buddy in a remote place. My buddies and I started DiveVB to connect local divers and divers traveling to the area, so that we can all share our love of the natural world and experience some local history and wildlife. On separate pages you can read about the history of our wrecks offshore, places to dive without chartering a boat, the wildlife that we see across the seasons, places to get your gear serviced, and ways to connect with local divers.

I can’t wait to see you all out there blowing bubbles. Let’s go diving!
