2024 Summer Diving Update!

May is here and that means warm weather (and warm water) is around the corner, and by around the corner, I mean it’s just south in North Carolina already! Read to the bottom to see when DiveVB is getting together this summer for OBX and VB scuba diving! Here are some exciting events coming up soon:
Diving in the Outer Banks is starting up: Check out Roanoke Island Dive Shop if you’re interested in renting gear and getting a guided tour to start out.
In BIG VB news, Kraken Charters is planning to offer scuba dive charters starting in late June/July and we definitely plan to get some trips booked. I’m really excited by this news, as this is the first scuba diving charter service offered in Virginia Beach in years. Some of the wrecks that the Kraken can take us to might not have been dove in that time, and definitely don’t have divers visiting regularly. That means there’s a great opportunity to see amazing wildlife, see artifacts, and discover something new. I dove the John Morgan and Gulf Hustler late last year on a private boat, and we saw sea turtles, a mola mola (ocean sunfish), amberjacks, and lots of other species of fish on top of the unique wrecks. Reach out via the form on the “Dive with us” page to let us know when you can go and I’m hoping to get a few groups out once charters start going!

Speaking of groups, here are a few dates when DiveVB plans to get a group together this summer for some diving. Reach out to join us; we’re happy to grow the local Virginia Beach community and take anyone out who is interested! There will also be some random days during the week when a few of us get together in a smaller group, so don’t think these are the only days!
